I love Steemit because I have been trying to find a way to monetize my creativity for the last 10 years. I have published on Amazon, have a YouTube channel and I regularly research a myriad of topics. The existing mainstream channels haven't suited me because much of my work is experimental. Steemit is a place that I can channel my creativity and learn a ton of new things. Building new friendships with people who "get me" is also one of the things I love about Steemit. Synergy is the thing that keeps me here.

Thanks for commenting stellabelle! :) I like your point that for you, the mainstream is unsuitable grounds for 'experimental work' but Steemit IS, that's important.
