Today I had a good look at my crypto portfolio, and I felt very sorry for my loss. I still remember that 2023 was the fortune year, and that's when crypto was at its peak. It was the time when NFTs were gaining popularity. Today, nobody is talking about NFTs, or nobody is collecting fancy NFTs anymore. I think it was not just NFTs, but overall, it was a great year in the crypto industry, where many people wanted to explore this technology and invest as well.
I remember a time when my crypto portfolio was huge. That's when Splinterlands had a very big spike, and they were unable to handle their playerbase. So many new users and the revenue was flowing like anything. I remember spending about 2000 dollars to purchase about 2000 SPS. Today, look at the price fo SPS, if I had bought SPS with 2000 today, I could get a shit load of SPS. I remember my splinterlands portfolio was over 50k dollars, and it was the best time. But as months passed, the value started going down not just for the splinterlands assets but in general for everything in the crypto market.
But usually when things are at their peak, we don't realize the value, and we keep thinking that this is not the end and this is just the start, and we might start investing, or we might try to hold and wait for an even higher price. But gradually the market will start falling, and we might have missed the opportunity to book our profits. Not just one time, but this has happened multiple times in the last 8 years to my knowledge.
Today I'm looking at my portfolio, feeling sorry about it when the market is at its lowest. One sad thing about my portfolio is that I have most of my assets inside Hive. Most of my investments are inside Hive, and they have already lost their value. I continue to catch the falling knife. Last time when the price of Hive was as low as 19 cents, I used to feel that I missed the opportunity to invest. The same happened when the price of Hive was as low as 15 cents. But today, when I write this article, the price of Hive is about 6 cents, which is how low it can get. I don't have any money right now to invest because I have already made a lot of investments. I will be very happy even if the price of Hive goes back to 1 dollar. My investment would have some meaning if that happens.
