Robinhood was originally a mobile app available on Android and iOS that allowed users to trade stocks for free. Recently, the company has been implementing new features. One feature that has been added is web access to trading instead of only mobile access. Another feature that has been added is the ability to buy and sell options. The most recent feature is the most interesting however. Robinhood is now introducing the ability to trade cryptocurrencies, FOR FREE!

On their blog post , they state, " Next month, round-the-clock, commission-free cryptocurrency trading comes to the Robinhood platform. Trading will be limited to Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), with more coins tradeable later. Trading functionality for BTC and ETH will be released gradually in waves to Robinhood residents in California, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, and New Hampshire. Robinhood Crypto will be available in more states soon".
Once these features are released, Robinhood will be able to directly compete with Coinbase and the Robinhood inspired company, Cobinhood. From my personal perspective, I think Robinhood has the advantage over both companies. First, Robinhood has a proven track record with its success of implementing zero fee stock trading. Now with the implementation of zero fee crypto trading, they will be an exchange powerhouse supporting both stocks and cryptos.
