RE: I created a new account

in #crypto • 3 days ago

Thank you for the warning, @thefed! I didn't know that, and I appreciate that you took the time to tell me. I will be careful, and I won't click any links or follow any instructions coming from that account, and I'll consider muting it.

How can I recognize this kind of account in the future? Is there a quick check you use, for example looking at its history, its links or the accounts connected to it?

Scam accounts, It seems to have a crazy uptick the past couple days. Definitely don’t ever click links! These accounts keep following one another minutes before the first fishing scam comments happen, making it obvious it’s an organized group all connected. Not very smart but they probably just do quantity over quality of scam.

This is completely inaccurate. There is no scam or phishing link in my post. What I shared is based entirely on my personal experience and the link leads to a legitimate, official website. Please review the link and content carefully before making false accusations.

@thefed I saw which account you were talking about when I checked your post. Do you really think people trying to steal accounts with phishing sites are that stupid? Why would they follow each other. Just to get caught together? Don't they know what they're doing is illegal?

@thefed @caparadiso If you spot someone trying to scam people with a phishing site, I'll walk you through what to do using that account spamming Matt's profile as an example.

Look, they're using an address like t.co/008IisB8jg. That link redirects to a phishing site. (Make sure you only check these kinds of sites in a secure virtual machine or VPS or just stay away entirely.) The phishing site URL is claim.loyalty-hive.blog. It steals the passwords of innocent people who enter their active key or password there. What you need to do is figure out where they bought this domain. Checking the Whois info shows it was registered through Namesilo. If you submit an abuse report to Namesilo, they'll shut down the domain pretty quickly and nobody else gets scammed.

@thefed Instead of pointing fingers at innocent people, you should focus on solving these issues at the root. Sure, I might have followed the wrong accounts, but that doesn't make me one of them. Besides calling an innocent person a scammer, no matter where you are is a serious violation of the law. You ruined my account and my first post. If you're a decent person, you'll at least offer an apology for this. Otherwise I'll know where you stand.

You are purposely misrepresenting the claim. He said a account you are associated with is posting scam links. A account you followed before they posted a single comment or post. The evidence doesn't look good. You have done a single post so frankly in unlikely situation this is a mistake and random odd action by you, you have one post ever and can easily open a new account. Sorry but it's highly likely your a bad actor. Yoy followed these scam accounts before they posted there phishing links and you opened account days ago. It doesn’t look good.

Since you have a single post and account was opened days ago you can easily start fresh.

@caparadiso it is indeed 99% likely this is a bad actor based on them immediately following other accounts who are posting phishing links after all opening accounts within past week.

Edit - after a deeper look, you are literally only connected to this group of scam accounts opened past few days. Again if just random and chance you connected to a group of accounts all opened past few days and some posting phishing links, don’t do that next time! It’s looking really really obvious you are not a good actor. Even this post had issues outside the shady connections to scam accounts you have. AI generated and includes unreliable links itself. This is not how you introduce self first day on a new platform.

@geneeverett It looks very clear these accounts all were opened same hour a couple days ago and many are spamming phishing links today. It amazes me how an account can argue after only posting one piece of content and AI generated at that. I’ll never understand the denying and excuses. Wow I never thought I’d say this but we do need Hive Watchers. These accounts are ridiculous.

Fact. The arguing replies are just ridiculous. A si old scan of account proves it was created in the hatch of 200 or so accounts all made days ago & all followed one another before a single post or comment and is clear plan to spam and scam. We need Hive Watchers back for sure! I had my issues with HW, but this is just clear cut spam and the threats in response to just DVing which is a part of how Hive works is just more proof there’s something shady here.

Hey @geneeverett I only followed new accounts. I thought it would make sense to hold off on following older accounts until I built up my profile for a bit. Maybe my logic was flawed but feel free to check for yourself. All 200 plus accounts were newly created.

There are definitely good people among them, but unfortunately a few turned out to be behind phishing sites. I honestly never saw that coming. Like you said I could have just turned my back, stayed quiet and walked away. I could have started fresh with a new account. But the honest-to-god truth is, I’m no scammer. I know what those kinds of people are like. I’ve fought against scams and scammers everywhere, every step of the way.

Being hit with this kind of unfair accusation really hurts. The way I’m being treated is just completely wrong.

You opened account a couple days ago. You reply by spamming my page and just arguing. Open a new account if you believe this is incorrect. But your own actions and odd behavior are impossible to ignore. Like Gene said you made a single post and besides the odd connections to scam accounts, you posted a AI generated post only. You should read the standards and return following them. Getting this upset when you have a single post is just odd and a waste of time. You will not help urself by replying with spamming and arguing. The evidence looks shady. Just start over and don’t AI generate posts and connect with only bot accounts with no posts first 24 hours who then go on posting scam links. If you can’t see how weird this that’s on you. You have one post, just start over if you honestly dispute this. It’s clear this is not a mistake but arguing won’t help. You have likely been black listed by now. Take responsibility and just do it right if you honestly believe this was mistake.

I use AI in my translations and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. If you thought it was a mistake or spam, fine you could have called me a spammer. You could have warned me. But I am not a scammer. Just because a few of the 200 accounts I follow tried to scam people with phishing sites, you called me a scammer. What I did was a mistake but what you did is a crime under the law. And you use hive.blog. When requested through legal channels, hive.blog is required to share all your information. That's why you shouldn't call anyone a scammer without being sure. You shouldn't have done that. My goal isn't to argue with you. It's to make you realize what kind of problem your actions create.

Not a few, you followed all of them which are created in one hour and your account is directly following the same paths as the rest. You can easily create a new account and not break the rules here. I’m done arguing, I politely explained exactly the issues and you keep debating and denying basic facts. This is on you and your actions only that caused this DV response. You can easily start fresh and avoid these issues in future, arguing and getting mad is just weird behavior at this point. I’ve gone outta way to explain the red flags your account presents and it’s clear you are just ignoring and not a good actor. I wish you well. Take care.

The link in my post is completely legitimate and everything I shared is based on my genuine personal experience. Please do not fall for these groundless accusations. I put a lot of hard work and effort into creating this post.
