
Crypto are an emerging class of assets and can collapse significantly at any time, warns the founder of the Ethereum block network.
"I recall: Crypto is still a new and hyper-volatile asset class, and their value may drop to zero at any given time," writes Vitalik Buterin on Twitter. "Do not put more money in them than you can afford to lose."
"If you're trying to decide what to put your savings on, traditional assets are still your most secure bet."
Crypto recovered slightly from the serious sell-offs where $ 100 billion of the market value was wiped out for just a day. The cost of the Bitcoin reached more than $ 10,000 last week after dropping to $ 5,947.40 in the previous one.
In December, Ethereum's creator compared the huge investments in the crypto market with the record price paid for the world's most expensive painting - Leonardo da Vinci's "Savior of the World."
Ethereum is the block network behind the crypto, which is often referred to as ether.
Buterin is one of many popular celebrities whose names are scammers on Twitter and offer dubiously profitable deals with crypto.
These bogus profiles often invite users to send a certain amount of a crypto for a larger quantity of it.
Ethereum's co-founder warned consumers not to trust people who offer crypto on Twitter.
