Vitalic Buterin, speaking at TechCrunch Breakout 2017, said the platform has the ability to change much of what is known about data and security. His comments contained a strong indication that Ethereum will have a transactional power to equalize Visa over the next two years.
Butterin said:
Bitcoin processes less than three transactions per second. Ethereum makes five transactions per second. It will take several years until Blockchain has replaced Visa. "
Gaming platforms
Ethereum's inventor also pointed out that Blockchain technology is likely to provide a platform for games and other applications requiring intensive data usage in the future where security is an important aspect.
