RE: NOIA - An Efficient Content Delivery Infrastructure

in #crypto6 years ago

So this took me awhile to read and process. I do really like the idea, and the general concept of further decentralizing the infrastructure of the internet is an important step for future developments and decentralizations to take place.

The only concern that I noticed was the decision to execute contracts and payments on the ethereum network, which of course, though well-known, is notoriously over worked. Are there plans to map to a more scaleable blockchain in the future?

I did click on your referral link, but it turns out that I cannot participate. Normally I would be in Colombia and have no problem, but while I am on the road here in the US I will not be able to set up the test net.

Keep us appraised of the progress!

Hello! mr. ecoinstant. This kind of question, generally I ask mr. Emilis Klybas.

Quoting mr. Emilis Klybas (NOIA's Telegram administrator):

It depends of how it is used, we use various techniques to mitigate the current scalability issue of Ethereum:

  • We use on-chain transactions sparingly, if a work contract is signed, we let its validity at least days or weeks in order to make it economical
  • If possible, we pool transactions too
  • Use off-chain logic as much as possible without compromising NOIA Network governance being decentralized.

Also in the long run, scalability issue of Ethereum will improve. If we are not satisfied about Ethereum in the future, we could move NOIA on another blockchain.

Thanks for your comment.
