Crypto Needs Some Professional Bull Shitters

Crypto-currency Could Use a Few Good Marketers to Spread the Word.

I know that the programmers and the cyber geeks among us might be thinking that what I say does not matter since I don't build these amazing blockchains like Steem, Ripple and Monero. What does matter to everyone is that what is being built is successful. Whether you like Marketers aka Professional Bullshiters or not you still need us.

I have sat back and watched for a few years while I see proxy wars between groups of programmers over who has a better blockchain, or who has the right to fork this or fork that. It is so freaking exhausting to watch. It also scares many potential investors away from the space.

Then we have people who get upset when a person writes an article about a promising blockchain technology like Synereo or goes negative on our beloved Steemit. Really folks are you that miserable that you have to attack the people that are making the blockchain community awesome?

Don't you realize that the great majority of us are working for a common goal of a decentralized world? Sure our utopia can seem far-fetched at times but at least we are trying.

Almost a year ago when I first met Ira Miller of Git Guild we were discussing the issues that the crypto-currency community has. The one big thing that we agreed on was the lack of positive crypto-currency promoters. Most of the news that you read about cryptos is highly technical.

Ira and I both agree that DogeCoin did a great job of making a coin appealing to the masses. You rarely saw people fighting over what Dogecoin was or what its future was. It was simply a coin that had mass appeal due to clever marketing.

This is where I believe the next phase of crypto-currency adoption will have to emerge. We need marketers like myself who believe in crypto-currency to help promote its uses to the masses. Not just hired guns who care nothing for the technology.

There are Three Major Phases of Adoption of any New Technology.

  1. Explorers
  2. Pioneers
  3. Masses

We are currently in the Pioneer phase. This is where very smart people see the coming trend and decide to come on board. Explorers tend to have a difficult time during this period because they do not like change. What they do not understand is that they can't keep their amazing tech and ideas out of the hands of the masses forever.

Pioneers like myself see a great future for crypto-currency and blockchain tech. This means we will promote the hell out of it because we believe it is a critical pivot in technology and an opportunity for fortunes to be made.

If you thought the internet revolution was big wait until you see what the blockchain revolution does for humankind.

Bring on the Professional Bullshitters!

Sort:

You need profesional marketers, I can sell dog shit stock that is worthless $5 a share for 1,000,000 shares! You need a wolf!

Sometimes I think there's already too many bullshitters in this space. LOL, but you make a great point. Most of the alt-coins seem to leave that aspect up to their individual community. That is one thing the dogecoin community really has going in it's favor. The community even sponsored a NASCAR driver. That's huge ! Most of their support came from community.

I think as cryptocurrency grows though, dev teams will see a need for marketing directors and PR folks to promote their coins. As competition grows so will marketing strategies. Marketing folk or professional bullshitters as you call them :) will probably be just as important as good developers in the future.

That is what I am betting on. Marketers are just as important as the devs once mass adoptions shows up.

Agreed, and LOVE at first sight! I totally want a Dogecoin now!
Please feel free to comment on how professional my bullshit is here, I'd be honored in fact. I'm trying to make this plain to people, and my user name itself is intended to be a double entendre that includes marketing, so ... https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@ibringawareness/don-t-panic-re-whales-dumping-steem-dollars-crashing-and-why-the-future-of-steemit-is-worth-betting-on-all-this-in-non-technical

A few days ago the world celebrated 25 years of the internet. Pretty cool right! Well even with my elementary understanding of cryptocurrencies, I can see that blockchain technology is an even bigger deal than the internet itself. Great post fellow Pioneer!

Thank you Shane!! This is going to be huge and the smart ones are getting on board this bullet train.

This is a great article. I have been banging on about this problem for over 12 months. Bring on Bullshitters to spread the word.
BLOCKCHAIN + DERIVATIVES = GAME CHANGER
Was happy to share this on Twitter at stephenpkendal. Stephen.

We follow each other on Twitter as well! Small world

It is. I am slowly trying to encourage my twitter followers to try steemit but a lot appear to be wary. The usual, scared of being the first. Keep up the great posts. Cheers. Stephen

I am willing and able to bullshit the shit out of crypto since I love it to the core. I'm actually quite used to it given the jobs I've held over the years. I'd much rather put my bullshitting talents to something I really believe in. :)

OK will do what I can Randy :)

Well said Randy @hilarski I feel 'pioneer' blood in my veins I will support this to the end, we it is only the beginning so some way to go. Life will only get better when people on the ground understand what you are saying, so tell it in a language that is understood without all the back biting and fighting.

Not really, crypto is already crawling with scam artists like a corpse being devoured by maggots. What crypto actually needs to do is to create something a middle class person with a job, family, and 3 credit cards would want.

Scam artists are different than people who know how to convince. I think we are on the same page but you took the title literally.
