Huawei Technologies Co.’s announced that its mobile phone users will be able to download Bitcoin wallets to transact Bitcoin exchanges starting on Friday. BTC.com’s Bitcoin wallet will be available on the Huawei AppGallery.

Huawei Technologies is the world’s third-biggest mobile phone maker, which is really popular in China.

The application will be pre-installed on new Huawei phones and will be available for download on existing phones. The wallet gives the users a chance to interact with the digital currency app for the very first time.

It will also be the first wallet released by the company. Many experts speculate that this move would have a major impact on the Chinese market as more than 62% of the population uses Huawei. China has also been a major player in the crypto-market and Bitcoin exchanges are expected to rise in the upcoming month in China.

The Chinese government has been very hostile towards cryptocurrency. The government had shut down all the cryptocurrency and blockchain industries. They even banned the trading platform and initial coin offerings [ICOs]. However, it is not illegal in China to own virtual currency, making China a hotbed for cryptocurrency for the last few months.

DE LA Torre, a major figure in Huawei said:

“It’s a good opportunity to tap into the Chinese market. The use of cashless payments with apps is very big and the traditional banking system is lacking, so there’s a good use case for crypto payments to grow there.”
Jaime Gonzalo, vice president of Huawei said:

“From our leadership position in China, the tip of the spear of mobile payments, we epect to see massive growth in global cryptocurrency adoption habits in the near future.”
Alejendaro de la Torre, the director of business operations at Bitcoin.com said:

“China has seen an explosive growth in online payments, Contrary to popular belief China’s strict stance towards cryptocurrency is mainly aimed at exchanges. Cryptocurrency usage is a viable alternative to many of the mobile payment providers used in China.”
