It's been a bad week to own cryptocurrency

in #crypto8 years ago

Bitcoin is down about 30% in the last 5 days alone.

Steem and others are down about 40% over the same time.

It's been mostly a blood bath out there for crypto owners.

Is now the time to wade in and buy some, or is there still more pain to come?

An analyst yesterday said he thinks btc will hit $40k this year and the top 50 altcoins will outperform even that, saying many in the top 50 will go up 3X or 4x.

If that is the case, it's time to buy every altcoin in the top 50!

Good post your

its always a good thing to buy the dip for good coins, because they will be back stronger than ever, i dont know about bitcoin but i see steem reaching $50 or more this year. thats like 15x the current price.

I am really sad for this, hopefully it will go high again

Read my post from yesterday, please. There is a strong tech reason for crypto chilling now. And it has little to do with Korea.

Good thoughts there, can't say I disagree. If you are right, we could see some blood letting for a few more months yet?

I am more inclined to believe in several waves of growth before the actual boom. January 31st we will see the KodakCoin ICO. This is a revolutionary event for at least two reasons:

  • A new blockchain which is built by a major non-fiancial corporation.
  • A blockchain that actually adds real value other than tokens.

This will spur the first wave of growth. BTC and altcoins will grow too, but not much. The focus will be on blockchains, not tokens. Those tokens backed by really useful blockchains which can find a wide application in everyday life and business will explode. And we will see a big growth in proof-of-stake and hybrid coins.

"Proof of contribution" which is the model of Steem will have a great future. Steem is, as to my knowledge the largest and most known BC that rewards its users for active participation and sharing knowledge, rather than "mining".

Down to $8k before reaching $40k!
