One of the biggest forms of fulfilment people have is "gloating"
It's inherent, and hardly scarce in most spaces and areas of life: people achieve success and happy they did and even happier that others didn't. The sheer satisfaction we get from mindsets like "I told you long ago, I was the smart one, I saw this coming, I'm happy I no longer have to suffer with you"
Now while they won't exactly say it this way, a lot of gloating formats are always like this. A few days ago, I saw an account on Twitter claiming he was 17 and from Bangladesh and made 5 million dollars in crypto.
I knew that he either had to be a meme coin rugger or a wallet hacker (these are the two ways people make money from zero in crypto) and funny enough I was right.
I saw people asking him same question and he was happily admitting in the comment section that that was what he was doing. He was laughing at people's faces and really satisfied with himself, and I was really disappointed.
People like him was the reason I was actually hacked and 8 months of working 16 hours a day was stolen from me.
They get to rug memes where people put in money and suddenly all your money is gone, and the gloating aspects comes when they happily admit to stealing from people. It's a world where people admit to happily doing the wrong thing, they don't feel any sadness or pain or tears, just sheer happiness over the sadness of others.
The other day I saw a comment on Hive on a post made by someone and I was really sad. The person boasted that he predicted that Hive was going to be dead, and that he was happy to selloff everything he earned and is happy he's no longer part of the chain.
From my calculations the amount of Hive he sold was probably gotten from a DEV job he did or something.
So this guy was happy to do that was happy he abandoned ship but still wake up everyday to comment everywhere he goes that he was happy he abandoned, funny enough he was saying this was still admitting that all he now does is to farm the chain.
The energy for me was so toxic, manipulative and destructive, and this has been probably one of exploitative ways that people take advantage of a welcoming chain like Hive.
How no one says he cannot sell, of course he can, but it's always gloating in the face of people, calling everyone foolish for choosing to build and hold their stake.
He could have silently left and allowed others to keep building their convictions without trying to gloat in their faces. It's one of the saddest things about crypto: people celebrate dumping on others, scamming them, taking advantage of them and get a sense of fulfilment from doing it.
Sad
It's literally something you can get in other spaces, but it's particularly very rampant on Crypto, which is what scares me.
The crypto space is filled with cannibals and horrible humans, and it might just be the reason why I'll leave when the time is right. It was welcoming and innovative, now we get people who just wants to scam others or are happy that they're dumping on others or taking advantage of them.
It's so sad though, and this is the reality, I hope it can be different, but honestly it's not. And people like this guy on on Hive is the proper definition of cancer.
5M in Crypto at the age of just 17? I can't believe that. That is too much...
If he really manage to get 5M that is really great for him, he should keep getting;

It's sad to see all those people happy to brag about what they did wrong. The scammer obviously deserves to be criticized, and the person on Hive should just leave if he doesn't like being here.
People on modern times like to brag and show off, you need to show you are the best, smarter, just brag to get attention... Not just crypto but many other things too... You need to find niches, hive doesn't have many bragging people compared to other places...
Yeah, Hive definitely doesn't have a lot of bragging people. The person I was talking about wasn't bragging, he was just gloating and likes to throw it in the faces of people.
