RE: sharing email exchange w/ trusted adviser I introduced to steemit

The idea of peer to peer sometimes stumps me. It also intrigues me. When I think peer my mind jumps to peer of the realm, you know kings, princes, dukes, earls barons and etc. and though all of them consider themselves peers there is in fact no equality among them. That thought won’t work. The dictionary says peer comes from the Latin, par. I have a better concept of par, to be on a par with, but still there is some evaluation involved there. Same sort of educational background, financial status, age, fill in the blank here but you get what I mean, there is an evaluation in action.
If I participate in an interaction with you on the blockchain peer to peer, I don’t have to trust you, I don’t have to evaluate you in any way, I don’t have to have a concept of who you are in terms of gender, race, religion, medical condition, etc., I don’t need to know you in anyway. We just both have to agree to the interaction. The blockchain does the rest.
But how does peer to peer work within this peer to peer/social network concept. At first glance you might think the two shouldn’t go together. “This is what I want to do” can be done without “this is who I am” on the blockchain. So I am back to being both intrigued and stumped.
I can tell you who I would like to be with. For sure people who would rather walk in the light (or strive to at least) than hibernate in the darkness, grumbling and wallowing in proving how right they are to grumble. People who embrace joy and humor and kindness as gifts coming out of them and coming into them. People with active minds struggling to be nonjudgmental as a goal and willing to put some effort into that struggle.
It is good to remember that life is, in fact, indestructible. I am 72 years old, an ex-hippie (though I am not actually convinced that the time for hippies is over) who struggled through life with a dream of being able to live it on my terms. It is what I wanted for my children (and all children) too. I took up battle cries for equality and a sort of unbiased inclusion into the system, but within that very system nothing really worked to make it reasonably better.
Peer to peer is a gentle thought, though not without strength or beauty. It steps outside the system in thought and sometimes in deeds and reignites my dream. I am alive with the possibilities and grateful to join those who envision the same kind of world.
As ever, M
P.S. So, you want to trade some ICO enthusiasms?
