From Secret Society to Mainstream

in #crypto7 hours ago

I feel like we’re entering the best phase of the crypto space. The wild early years were fun: memes, random pumps, feeling like we were part of some secret society trying to change the financial world. But that stage can’t last forever. If this industry really wants to survive and grow, it has to evolve. And I think that evolution is exactly what we’re starting to see now.

Institutional investors are slowly but surely taking part and putting real money on the table. That changes the game. When more serious funding comes in, the whole environment shifts: standards go up, expectations go up, and the tolerance for “move fast and break everything” goes down. It’s not as exciting as 100x lottery tickets, but it’s healthier in the long run.

With more capital, I expect the developer base to grow as well. More smart people will be building full-time, not just hacking something together on weekends. We’re going to see more institutional-grade projects, better infrastructure, and products that are actually ready for mainstream use, not just for crypto natives who know how to fix things when they break.

Auditing of smart contracts will likely become more strict too. That’s a good thing. We’ve all seen enough rug pulls, exploits, and “oops we lost the funds” moments. If this space wants to handle billions and trillions, then security can’t be an afterthought. Strict processes might feel boring, but they protect real people and real money.

At the same time, I’m grateful I got to experience the earlier version of crypto – when it really did feel like a small group of people on the internet trying to rewrite how money and the web work. It was messy, chaotic, and often irrational… but also full of raw energy and idealism.

Now the vibe is changing, and that’s okay. Secret societies don’t change the world; sustainable systems do. I’m happy I was here for the early days, but I’m even more excited to see what this more mature, better-funded, more serious phase of crypto will bring.

I love taking photos of anything and then share them in my blog. However, I also want to share about my investing journey here in the Hive Blockchain and share my thoughts about crypto & finance.
