In a recent tweet, the Helium Network announced that the implementation of the Proof-of-Coverage system known as PoCv11 has been delayed for two weeks.
Instead of the planned start for October 4 or 5, the new indicative implementation date is October 18, 2021.

If you are interested in the Helium network or you already have miners on it, you should be aware of the changes as soon as possible and possibly prepare your equipment.
The most important change is that the network will actively confirm the asserted location from the beginning of the application of Pocv11 and on the basis of it will give bonuses or penalties for the work of miners.
When connecting the miner to the network, the obligatory data are the exact geographical location of the miner, the antenna gain and the height in relation to the ground. Some network users noticed that this position is not checked, so they chose fake locations for their miners in order to avoid the reduction of income that occurs when too many devices are found on one hexagon.
The network will now actively check the location and penalize devices that are not set up correctly.
Another change in PoCv11 is adjusting the power of the device to local regulations. The devices will now be able to reduce the power of the broadcast if the regulations require it for the location where they are located.
