The best way I have found is to store your information in an encrypted online service like passpack - only store here where to find the wallet seed or where the physical wallet (ledger or trezor) is located. this will guide them to find the seed and physical wallets.
They are then directed to an online folder in say dropbox or google drive where you store screen shots of your seed.
