And now Ripple being the most promising and cheapest currency on Coinbase? With all these new crypto kiddies in the loop?

this surely means higher highs for ripple. it could double up as soon as the news is out.
I'd say that Ripple will keep on growing in 2018, as it's the most institutionalized of all the crypto solutions. It's relatively easy for banks to jump on board, as Ripple itself will do all the heavy lifting. Apart from that, operational costs and transaction time will decrease immensely. It's a matter of months before all big monetary players will start investing in R&D for a Ripple collaboration.
I think Ripple will take max two months to reach 1$, then it will either fall asleep for a few months or start competing for investors with Lisk.
But I think stupid things sometimes. It might not go at all like I say/think... Is kind of the thing with cryptos: they can go up, or down :-)
