Hi everyone, the first section of the crypto-education series starts with very basic terms of trading. We will identify crypto pairs, futures, long/short, the bid, ask and spread, margin trading, limit entry order, stop entry order and stop loss order. My very first aim is to convey the meaning as understandable as possible. I employ from especially Babypips Investopedia and some experienced crypto traders' youtube videos.
Basic Terms in Crypto-Trading
Buying and Selling "Currency Pairs"
Trading is simply buying one currency and selling another. (For example, BTC/ ETH; ETH/BTC)
- Base currency is the first currency that listed on the left.
- Counter currency is the second currency that listed on the right.
- The base currency is the basis for the buy or the sell.

Currency Futures
Futures are contracts to buy or sell a certain asset at a specified price on a future date.
Because currency futures contracts are marked-to-market daily, investors can exit their obligation to buy or sell the currency prior to the contract's delivery date. This is done by closing out the position. The prices of currency futures are determined when the contract is signed, just as it is in the forex market, only and the currency pair is exchanged on the delivery date, which is usually some time in the distant future. However, most participants in the futures markets are speculators who usually close out their positions before the date of settlement, so most contracts do not tend to last until the date of delivery.
Long and Short
In trader's talk, "Going long" or "Long position" means buying.
"Going short" or "Short position" means selling.

The Bid, Ask and Spread
Simply,
- The"bid" price is the best available price to sell.
- The"ask" price is the best available price to buy. (offer price)
- The difference between the bid and the ask is "spread"

A limit entry order is an order placed to either buy below the market or sell above the market at a certain price.
Stop Entry Order
A stop entry order is an order placed to buy above the market or sell below the market at a certain price.
Stop Loss Order
A stop loss order is a type of order linked to a trade for the purpose of preventing additional losses if the price goes against you.
What is a 'Stop-Loss Order' A stop-loss order is an order placed with a broker to sell a security when it reaches a certain price. Stop loss orders are designed to limit an investor’s loss on a position in a security. Although most investors associate a stop-loss order with a long position, it can also protect a short position, in which case the security gets bought if it trades above a defined price.

Alım-satım yapan borsa tacirleri dilinde "long açmak" ya da "longlamak" alım yapmak anlamına gelirken; "short açmak" ya da "shortlamak" satım yapmak anlamına gelir.
Bid, Ask ve Spread
- Bid fiyatı mevcut durumda sunulan satım için en uygun fiyatı verir.
- Ask fiyatı mevcut durumda sunulan alım için en uygun fiyatı verir.
- Spread ise Bid ile Ask arasındaki fiyat aralığına denir.
Margin İşlemler / Marj Ticareti
Margin en basit dil ile, ödünç alınan para ile yapılan işlemler diyebiliriz. Mevcut paranızdan daha fazlası ile işlem yapabilme olanağı sağlar. İyi öğrenmeden yapılması pek tavsiye edilmez.
Sınır Giriş Emri
Mevcut fiyat baz alınarak, aşağısında alım emri vermek ya da mevcut fiyatın üzerinde satış emri vermektir.
Duruş Emri
Mevcut fiyat baz alınarak, fiyatın yukarısında alım emri vermek ya da mevcut fiyatın altında belirli bir noktada satış emri vermektir.
Kayıp Durdurma Emri - Stop Loss Nedir ?
Fiyat bizim beklentisi içinde olduğumuz yönün aksi istikametinde hareket ettiği durumlarda, daha fazla yaşanabilecek zararların önüne geçilmek adına girilen emir türüdür.
