What are the top 5 altcoins to buy in September?

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone!

I am new to Steemit and cryptocurrency in general. I recently bought a fraction of a Bitcoin and want to buy some really cheap (preferably under a dollar) coins with good potential. I am not looking for some quick cash. I don't it's a viable option to day-trade as it is rather expensive if you think of the fees and other things. I want to spend say $100 (200 to 500 coins) on each currency and forget about it for at least a year or two. I have selected a few candidates and would love your thoughts and suggestions.

Candidate from my brief research and the reasoning why I think it is here to stay:

  1. Basic Attention Token (BAT) (218million capital)- developed by Mozilla and creator of JavaScript
  2. Ripple (XRP) (8471m) - backed by big banks for their internal use and also to stay up to date with technology
  3. Golem (GNT) - decentralized computing
  4. Bitshares (BTS) (379m) - decentralized exchange
  5. Cofoundit (CFI) (379m)-
  6. NEM (XEM) (2632m) -

What are your thoughts and suggestions?

EOS + BTS

completely agree
EOS +BTS :)

Thanks for the reply! Already bought some BTS. Will look into EOS and IOTA (as advised by lolcathost).

Yea, IOTA devs are pretty high on themselves. Token is not really needed for anything. It is getting some good China love but I don't see a future.

At some point the speculation ends as crypto goes more mainstream and tech that is actually useful to people will start to shine. Look at Steemit and Bitshares, arguably the two most used crypto products in the world and they are what, 20 on CMC?

There are nearly a thousand crypto currencies out there. I have doubts that 50% of these will exist after 5 years. Then again, your are right about crypto currencies becoming mainstream at some point. Bitcoin, Ethereum and others are most likely to survive as big players(investors) need and support them.

You picked some good ones, some of which I hold myself. I'd go for $IOTA and $OMG for coins priced around a dollar presently. Grab some $NEO while you can. It's pricier but will be worth it long term.

Thanks for the suggestions. I wasn't sure about IOTA. Will definitely grab some as it's still cheap to get. Will look into OMG and NEO too :)
