last month Amazon.com bought 3 domain according to Domain Name Wire (DNW) report were registered this week that are related to blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies: amazoncryptocurrencies.com, amazoncryptocurrency.com and amazonethereum.com.
May be it is sign that Amazon is coming up with something big in market in end of year or in 2018.

It will be really interesting how Amazon approaches crypto currency.
If this happens, it will be the beginning of the democratization of the use of cryptocurrencies. People will start to trust the technology (even if they do not understand it) and in the same way, Amazon will be able to take the lead on the next digital transformation that will occur in the next decade. After gulping the book market, maybe it's not fiction to say they have the power to shake the actual internet payment market and to do amazing things using blockchain technology.
I don't think they're launching a new crypto. It might be that they intend to launch platforms for products purchasable through cryptocurrencies or that they just want to register the domains to prevent cybersquatting.
