The Abacus Ethical Investments Leadership Summit on Islamic Finance & CryptoCurrency is the first ever leadership summit to explore the subject of cryptocurrency (also referred to as virtual or digital currency) in relation to the Islamic banking and finance industry.

The Islamic banking industry has worked conscientiously for decades to apply fiat currency to Islamic principles and is always seeking to discover new and innovative ways to improve and diversify their services. A host of global leaders from the worlds of digital currency and Islamic finance as well as eminent Islamic scholars will work together to explore and consider the new technologies of blockchain and cryptocurrency that present exciting new possibilities for Islamic financial services. Recent research claims that cryptocurrencies can not only conform to the main principles of Islamic finance, but may indeed be a more appropriate medium of exchange for the sector.

The leadership summit will draw together some of the most important minds within the Islamic finance and cryptocurrency worlds, presenting a panel of experts, a series of presentations, and discussions to learn and explore how cryptocurrency may be applied to enrich Islamic finance services. The findings will be published and used to develop new strategies, training courses and services within the Islamic finance sector.
