This is very much so.
The block-chain is only good for a very minor portion of the applications on the interwebs.
The trustless aspect comes with huge costs in speed and computers.
However, i must say that most people don't even know what a database is, even if they use one every day at their job. To them, block-chain is just a fancy word. Many corporate sales have been made with less fancy words.
I could never use those scissors. you do not have any control while holding the food and the cutting implement out in the air before you. But, it could be said, that is only because i demand uniform piece size.
