Google bans crypto mining extensions from its google chrome browser because 90% of mining extensions fail to comply with their rules and regulations. Google says that a lot of them were misusing their power to mine cryptocurrencies by making people download these extensions willingly and telling them that it does something else, when secretly the extension is mining crypto currency using their computers power and their Internet . Although someone might think that it’s an ad blocker extension but really it’s just mining cryptocurrencies.
Since Google sees this as being a malicious act they are taking a stance against it and banning all of it. Any new minors will not be excepted. If you have an existing mining extension by June You will be removed from the Google chrome browser. The head of Google extensions said:
“ Unfortunately, approximately 90% of all Extensions with mining Scripps that developers have attempted to unload to chrome Web store have failed to comply with these policies, and have either been rejected or remove from the store”.
Also, in June when this extension will be removed the crypto currency ad ban is going to start for Google ad words. So if you’re trying to get a crypto currency ad, or start an ICO, and for anything crypto currency related it’s going to be banned from the ad words platform and your not going to be able to do it.
As a result, Google has had enough of Chrome browser extensions that mine cryptocurrency using the processing power of users’ computers. Do you think it is right for them to do this? What are your thoughts?
