With the BTC soft/hard fork concerns looming ever closer, crypto-traders are looking for every possible avenue to help weather the storm. Some are considering cashing out to fiat, but that comes with a hefty 25% capital gains tax if you're in the US. Others are contemplating pushing to LTC, ETH, or even Tether, but as we've seen BTC drop, often times so does other coins! Everything is looking rather bleak at the moment with the ever-pushing bear market and bull traps.
However, there is one possible avenue that traders are starting to explore!
Masternode coins
HighOnCoins recently advocated hopping into the ChainCoin on Cryptonia due to the fact that the price was a steal and that the coin offered PoS Masternodes. For those unfamiliar, Masternodes offer a trader to stake their coins to allow the blockchain to do various tasks with it. Masternodes help secure the network, offer verification and transaction capabilities, and by offering up these coins, traders benefit from dividends for the work!
These coins that offer masternodes encourage people to HODL their coins versus dumping them at the slightest sign of 10% profit. Day traders are becoming long term holders as they see the calculated dividend profits skyrocket.
ChainCoin went from .19 cents to $6.72 in less than 7 days. Largely helped by the strong community HighOnCoins built using their slack channel, the coin soared to record highs and the community actually HELD their coins. Sure, there are sell walls and whales, but moving buy walls as a community and encouraging holding to maximize price gains for dividend yields clearly won out.
The next big coin seems to be Syndicate Coin (SYNX) traded on Bittrex. A slack channel was set up on 7/13 and within minutes it went from 2 users to 200. A day later, 1000 users. The coins price soared from .10 cents to over .80 cents overnight and continues to skyrocket
