Status.im has announced that they will be delaying their much anticipated token sale.
New time
Previous: Sat July 17, 2017, 2PM GMT (7AM PST, 10AM EST)
Now: Sat July 20, 2017, 2PM GMT (7AM PST, 10AM EST)
Reasons for the delay
The team needs additional time for:
- Investors to become familiar with the unique style of token sale (which will include dynamic ceilings)
- Scrubbing for additional bugs
- Continued testing of the dynamic ceiling contract
Given the vast amount of interest in recent token launches and their subsequent short-term effects on the Ethereum network, we’ve made the decision to delay the Contribution Period by 3 days, to Tuesday 20th June at 2pm GMT to ensure our community’s awareness of the structure and procedures necessary to participate, extend our bug bounty period, and further test our plans for use of dynamic ceilings.
They have also just closed down their Slack channel to protect from scammers. They have promised to be much more active on Twitter and Reddit.
Also of note is that they will be blocking United States IPs on the contribution page.
Q: I’m a US Citizen, can I participate? A: No. All US IPs on https://contribute.status.im/ will be blocked entirely, and contributors must agree to the Terms and Conditions.
