As far as i can see it seems to me that we are going to see the battle of the crypto frameworks.
Ethereum VS EoS VS Cardano VS Neo .
i think :
Cardano has the potential to be the next big think for some few and simple reasons
first of all the great team i can see behind the project and the frequent updates on github.
Also the plutus language that can be used in order to create Cardano apps looks promising.
Ethereum will still be here and still be a crypto giant being the oldest of all the crypto framework players.
Having a great community , an easy to program language ( solidity ) and also being the Bitcoin alternative for most people.
EOS the Ethereum on Steroids .
A community that gets larger and larger , great potential in computing power comparing to ethereum which is still slow and a great team behind the project that keeps informing people across the globe not only through social media but also through many tech events.
Neo
The chinese giant has skyrocketed in price lately and the platform looks so promising and strong.
Having the backing of Chinese technology powerhouses and already many successful apps that run on it it might be the no 1 competitor of cardano and or Ethereum.

I really don't understand how Cardano has such a high valuation when they don't even have a product.
Don't get me wrong I love the project and what they are doing. I just don't see how it can be a possible ETH killer when it's just a whitepaper ICO at this point. Hopefully they have more development this year. I would love to invest but I'm just high skeptical at this point.
You have a point right there , of all the frameworks until now only Ethereum and Neo have viable products running on the platform. In my opinion Cardano will eventually become big because of the engineering team behind it . Maybe thats not a strong reason to invest in it for now but as you said we are going to see a lot more development on it this year.

The team behind a coin is extremely important (of course community, idea, competitiveness,... too). They need to improve for sure but just give them time and we will see how it will turn out.

You are right, but ada is just on its way up and of course it needs to solve a lot of problems to gain "real value". It is speculative but the team,... is lit and if you trust the whole idea and so on then you presumably should invest. Does not need to be a fortune but just a little support - maybe.
