As many of you know, ShapeShift is a popular cryptocurrency exchange. What’s unique about it is that unlike other cryptocurrency exchanges, you don’t need an account and you can convert one cryptocurrency to another easily.
Choose the altcoins or blockchain tokens you would like to exchange, input your receiving address, & send your funds. Fast crypto market exchanges, no fees, and a delightful process.
Unlike other digital asset and bitcoin exchanges, you don’t need an account to use ShapeShift. This means your funds and information don’t suffer custodial risk.
The issue with ShapeShift is that sometimes coins are unavailable and many people have also had issues with ShapeShift. If you look at their subreddit /r/shapeshiftio (and r/shapeshift to an extent) many people have lost money and are frustrated with lack of customer support. People also dislike them because of their high fees. This is why people have coined the nickname “ShapeShit” and “ShapeTheft”.
I have never personally had an issue with ShapeShift, but I understand many people have. I am posting a list of ShapeShift alternatives, or websites that work in the same way (trading cryptocurrency without accounts).

Changelly - Changelly is the most popular and well known alternative. They have lower fees, and also accept Visa and Mastercard, unlike ShapeShift. They don’t have as many coins as ShapeShift, but they still have a large selection. In my opinion, they are the best ShapeShift alternative.
BlockTrades - BlockTrades is another viable alternative to ShapeShift. They only have BTC, BCH, ETH, LTC, DOGE, DASH, and Steem/SBD.
Flyp.me - Flyp.me is another interesting alternative. I find it suspicious that they had an ICO, as it seemed unneeded. But, they do have a good history and support 15 different coins.
Evercoin - Evercoin is the most popular alternative after Changelly, and they have a solid team. They support many different cryptocurrencies and have a good trading history.
CoinSwitch is an online tool that compares the rates of several of the websites I listed above. You should always use it before trading.
