Our Mission

Welcome to Crypto Traders of Mississippi (CTOM). Our mission is to do our part locally to bring attention to the revolutionary world of cryptocurrencies. We understand that the crypto world can be quite intimidating and extraordinarily confusing especially with the vast amounts of media misinformation. With that in mind, we strive to breakthrough these misconceptions, help guide self-education with reliable resources, offer a public forum for the experienced to aid the inexperienced, and reach out to anyone and everyone we meet.

First and foremost, we seek to help newcomers and skeptics alike break through misconceptions and properly educate themselves using facts and NOT skepticism, speculation, or agenda-perpetuating misinformation. As with all other world changing ideas, projects, etc. throughout history, the initial reaction has been overwhelmingly negative. The same happened with television, computers, the internet, etc.

Breaking through these barriers and actually understanding what cryptocurrencies are, how they work, etc. requires proper sourcing. If one’s source is filled with false and/or misleading information--whether the content provider did so intentionally for malicious reasons, or unintentionally due to bias and/or laziness--this can lead to many issues, (e.g. misconceptions, skepticism, being pulled into a ponzi scheme and losing your investment, etc.). Caveat emptor, or “let the buyer beware” applies to cryptocurrencies just as it does with all other forms of exchange. If your sourcing is poor, you place yourself at risk. That’s where we come in. Through a community led and moderator finalized vetting process, members and moderators work together to provide everyone with reliable sources of information. And this finalized list is available to everyone via the pinned post at the top of the group page.

What was mentioned above serves as one example of the type of forum we are trying to achieve. This forum will serve as a way for experienced investors within the world of crypto to help newcomers avoid the mistakes they made. It also serves as a way for experienced investors to share strategies, knowledge, news information, etc. with each other. As a result, everyone benefits, and the more we grow, the more people we will attract. Outreach will be key.

Now, to address something readers are likely asking themselves, “What is all of this about and why should I even care?”. This is a complicated question that requires a complex answer--an answer that could fill numerous books, but let’s give the short version a shot.

Crytpocurrencies pose a direct threat to the powers that be simply by freeing individuals from a system of financial control. Upon taking that into consideration, the enormous amount of propaganda, media attacks, government attacks, etc. should make far more sense. It is to be expected--in fact, it is welcomed. Voltaire said, “To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.” And boy did we. These institutions belong to a system that has been in place for a very long time. One that leaves many of us in debt and unable actually obtain wealth. One that will leave our children and grandchildren indebted to it--slaves bound to central banks and a deeply corrupt central government. One within which a symbiotic relationship between private institutions of all types and extraordinarily powerful central governments thrive and rule via shared self-interest driven cooperation. One where corporate institutions work with governments to pass legislation to limit competition, erect barriers to entry, monopolize industry, receive massive amounts of subsidization, and privatize their gains while socializing their losses. In turn, these institutions provide government with various services ranging from surveillance to military contracts just to name a few. With its unlimited borrowing capacity, the central government can devalue our money via deflationary mechanisms, encourage near zero interest rates devaluing our savings while encouraging the accumulation of individual debt, and enslave us all via these combined with the ever-growing national debt. This is an unsustainable system, and those in power do not care. They are protected at our expense.

Furthermore, over the last century, this system has been responsible for numerous financial crisis across the world--including the crash of 2008. Leading up to the financial crisis of 2008, investment banking institutions were able to set the dominoes up just right beforehand to ensure the inevitability of both a collapse and government protection in the aftermath. This scheme has been dubbed the greatest transfer of wealth in American history, and rightly so. Internationally, $13 trillion dollars was pumped into institutions and central banks in order to prevent a “dooms day” scenario of their own making. It was quite genius, and now they have formed another enormous bubble across the entire stock market--one that will inevitably lead to a crash potentially worse than all in the last century combined. This is an all out declaration of war on every single living person on this planet. Forget the conspiracy theories floating around the internet. This is the world in which we live. This is not conspiracy. This is objective truth.

I may be losing you now, but hang in there. I am sure you are filled with questions and skepticism at this point. The writer would be too in your position, but that is where eliminating confirmation bias and redirecting your thought process to be one that seeks the truth and not what is comfortable comes in. The data is there, and deep down, every single person knows it--you the reader know it. You can feel it, but your programming resulting from a steady stream of social pressure and media propaganda tells you that you are crazy. You aren’t. It is time to free yourself from the perpetual state of cognitive dissonance attempting to believe otherwise burdens you with. It is time to free yourself from confirmation bias, and expose yourself to the things you have been told are taboo by the same people who care nothing about you. It is time to alleviate the anxiety and depression feeling powerless in the face of this reality consumes you with. You are not powerless. We are here to help you understand why, and how you can participate in fighting back. Unlike other movements throughout history, this movement cannot be stopped without destroying the system itself. Metaphorically speaking, crypto is a virus replicating within the system itself. It cannot be removed without destroying the host, and that is our advantage. Behind the scenes, a silent war is being waged for the liberty of all. Freedom from the tyranny of government corruption, financial terrorism, and debt slavery. Welcome to the market revolution.
