I'd say that is good advice especially if you haven't been in crypto yet. I have been talking to my main stream friends that aren't hot on crypto and there's a lot of buzz to get in on bit coin as it get to $5,000 ( especially with the next recession looking like itll be affecting us beginning 2018) I give them the same advice mention coins like Neo, Lite Coin, and EOS.
