Yes content creators need the commenter's and curators probably as much as we need them. Its a community with lots of moving parts and when its set up as a free market.. the site will find its own way.
Its the social aspect of the site that drives everything and without all its moving parts it will change.. For better or worse ? who knows. But I'm sure it will survive in one form or another
