To explain my idea first i need to rewind some events happen few year ago
In the early '00 the sharing and downloads in the internet have a peak, every single person have an idea about download music, movies, books, etc and that people sure known about software like, eMule, kazaa, Ares and many more. In those year a new technology capture fans every new day: ".torrent" files
A lot of people including me didn't know about that, many imagine the torrent clients and file like a complex engineering tech reserves for a few intelligent humans, many other suposed that technology gonna infect their PC (obviously that people didn't know that Ares and other P2P client surely infected your machines haha).
It's not neccesary to explain the torrent explode, with websites like ThePirateBay or Mininova, with P2P clients like bittorrent and many others, all of us know the law attacking to those sites until a few felt ... and they reborned again ... and again ... and again.
The war between torrent philosophy and copyright industry scale to huge levels, finally the copyright industry wore out the torrent community, but the last round begun: the creation of magnet links
In few words the "magnets" link the files between two computers or more without a tracker (the main piece in the communications between two computers to download or upload a file). Some websites evolved into Magnets' index website where you can browse it without any demand risk for you and for the website. The fight continues now, one day a torrent site closes and other day a new website born and the cycle repeat every time.
After these words I gonna tell you an idea/dream/wish, not a finished solution but if you wanna do it go ahead dude!, it'd be a revolution!
Situation
The magnet is a hash calculate by the protocol --> the hashes index by piratebay for example (risk to be banned by authorities) --> the pirate bay now is replicated in many server index by proxybay (the critical point) => the authorities can attack the sytem always.
My dream/wish:
Calculate the hash of magnet using a blockchain --> save the resulting hash in the blockchain --> RESULT: DECENTRALIZE THE MAGNETS INDEXES BACKUP ON WEBSITES LIKE PIRATEBAY O MININOVA
Every single p2p client replicate the index in the pc where run itself and works like a node of blockchain, the transaction gonna be more stable, you musn't need any tracker and if the protocol consider the upload ing of file's pieces to blockchain the torrent gains thousands of seeds and of course, your download will finish early.
Next possible step that you MUST develop to change the reality:
- Select the blockchain where you wanna save the file's pieces and magnet link
- Construct a new gen P2P client to download files without any platform in the middle
- Decentralize the file downloads and storage forever!!!!
