What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of finance and banking? You’ll probably imagine someone rich, wearing a nice tailored suit in an air-conditioned room, looking at stock market charts. Unfortunately, this image holds true in a lot of ways. Finance isn’t something that is very accessible to those who are poor or are in poverty. In fact, financial inclusion is considered a key factor in poverty reduction, but over 2 billion adults in the world still do not have access to regular financial measures. This problem is essentially what TraXion (https://traxion.tech/) is trying solve.
Before I go into the details of the project, if you’ve read any of my posts in the past, you’ll know that I love it when an ICO gets a big partnership. A big partnership will instantly raise a project’s credibility for me. Luckily for TraXion, it is partnered with IBM, a giant multinational technology company. TraXion will be using the latest IBM Hyperledger technology to provide seamless integration and connectivity among networks, businesses and people.
Going back to the project, TraXion is trying to build a financial infrastructure that will be blockchain-driven, enforcing data integrity, accountability, transparency, and trust. The blockchain platform will be scalable, immutable, permissioned, and be able to execute smart contracts, business provenance and data visibility. Most importantly, it will be designed for everyday users to solve the problem of financial inclusion as mentioned earlier. The main visions of the project are: send & receive payments seamlessly, move towards ending poverty through financial inclusion, and transparency of aid.
The TraXion team is highly experienced, and I believe they have the skills necessary to make the project a success. Ann Cuisia, the CEO of TraXion, has many years of experience in the banking and finance industry. She has also been involved in non-profit organizations, such as online giving facilities. I think her mix of experience explain the visions behind this project. The project has gotten top notch reviews from ICObench (4.8/5) and Foundico (8.7/10).
