FIVE EASY ways to get Crypto without money!

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago (edited)

Fill up your Wallets!

This article will attempt to provide you with the basic starting points to begin filling your bags with digital cryptocurrency. We will go over multiple ways you can get your hands on cryptocurrency and tokens and start stashing coins. Of course you could simply purchase form an exchange like Coinbase (but that will take all the fun out of it). This article is for people that do not want to risk money, but still want to a low barrier to entry way to get some cyptocurrency. I also want to be transparent, some of these links are affiliate links that will reward me if you sign up, some are not. I did not intentionaly write this article to sell services, but if I they had a program, I used it.

 Lets Get Started:

1. Faucets

Facets are almost as old as Bitcoin and are a great “free” way to start accumulating cryptocurrency. A faucet is a reward system, in the form of a website or app, that dispenses rewards in the form of fractions of each coin, that visitors claim in exchange for completing a captcha, or task as described by the website. Most of the time it involves looking at lots of advertising.Originally these faucets were only BitCoin and dispensed on a time interval, but now some sites and apps are getting creative with faucets and now include other coins like Litecoin, Dogecoin, DASH etc…One of the big drawbacks is that they have to display a lot of ads to balance out the payouts to users. Some of the networks have completely annoying pop-ups, pop-unders, and deceptive buttons for claims, that make them difficult to use. But don’t despair we have found a network that is bearable, you will see a lot of ads, but they will not be unbearable, with just a single pop-under page when you claim. Here is how you can get started.

First start a CoinPot account.

First, you need a place for the faucets and web miners to send your cryptocurrency after you have earned it. CoinPot serves a number of dependable high payout faucets, web miners, and offer walls. Once this account is set up, you can make claims, and store small amounts of cryptocurrency. We are not affiliated with CoinPot, for this article we tried out dozens of faucets. Our suggestions are based on “Claim time/ Payout” vs. “Ad Deception”. We discovered CoinPot displays ads in the least intrusive manner. You have to still do some tab closing, but you will never get stuck in never-ending cycles of pop up and tab hell that makes claiming impossible, and not worth it.

Mooncoin
At the Mooncoin faucets, you enter the same CoinPot email address that you used to create your account and claim your reward. You can claim every 5 mins for most of the faucets listed below. You can also let the amount build up and claim once a day. You should expect to keep clicking the links for about a week or two until you have enough coins to transfer to an exchange to start trading or your personal wallet..

Moon Bitcoin

Moon Litecoin

Moon DogeCoin

Moon Bitcoin Cash

Moon DASH

I am not saying you will get rich stockpiling coins trough faucets, but you will get some crypto to start experimenting and having fun with.

AirCoins (app with AR)
AirCoins is like the Pokemon Go app for coins. You to search your area for coins tap them and they go into your wallet. It is free and fun and will get you started collecting coins. Unfortunately, the app will not allow the withdraw of your coins to exchanges or personal wallets yet. The developers have stated they are working on this feature now. Until it’s fun to try and start building some altcoin bags. You can download and play now for iOS here, and for Android here

2. Mining

Mining cryptocurrency can be very rewarding,  it will teach you how things are working under the hood of your favorite coins, and you will be supporting the system by processing transactions. You will be rewarded with coins for the amount of processing power you grant to complete transactions. This is call Proof of Work (POW). Be aware that there are other forms of blockchain processing like Proof of Stake (POS), that also process transactions but rewards based on the amount of that currency you make available to process transactions. POS is a great way to make cryptocurrency, but we are not going to get into that here because you have to own the coins already to stake them and profit.

Web Mining

With your CoinPot Account you can also mine coins using your web browser and your computers processing power at CoinPot.co  At Your Dashboard at CoinPot, choose the dropdown next to the coin that you want to mine, select “mine coinname” and it will take you to a page that looks like this and you can start mining to your account. (The link above will mine into our account and you will get your own after sign up).

Mobile Mining

The Electroneum (ETN) App on Android (iOS in beta) is a great way to get started mining with your Android device. You will not only get a wallet with the app, it also runs a simulated miner that rewards you with real Electroneum (ETN).
You can download the Electroneum app at the Google Play Store here.
(enter code BACDC3 for us both to have a chance to win some ETN after sign up)

Laptop/PC mining

Some coins you can mine using your computer at home, and some you can not, there are to many options for this article to cover. You can spend thousands of dollars on a mining rig. This article will barley have time to scratch the surface, and do this topic justice (we will dive into mining in a later article). For this Article, I will provide a couple of links to tutorials that will get you up and started mining with your computer.

BitCoin (BTC) (BTC info
Bitcoin requires major resources and requires large hash rates to be a profitable endevor. Unless you are willing to fork out 1,000+ for a fast mining rig. If you really have your heart set on it you can rent computers in the cloud to do your mining for you.

Litecoin (LTC) (LTC info)
Like Bitcoin, LItecoin is beyond the reach of most nome hobby miners. But if you want to give it a shot I reccomend you read this first.

Monero (XMR) (XMR info)
Mining Monero can be a profitable becuse of its cryptographic algorithm that is resistant to ASIC’s mining. This means that anyone with a CPU or GPU can mine for Monero. This article at Blockonomi will get you started mining Monero (XMR).

Electroneum (ETN) (ETN info)
Electroneum, like Monero, is also resistant to ASIC’s mining. This means that anyone with a CPU or GPU can mine for Electroneum. This article at Blockonomi that will help you get started mining Electroneum.Once you have your hardware ready, check out mining pools to combine your hashing power with others to find  even more cryptocurrency.

3. Create Content

The STEEM platform will pay you to create content, curate content, and like other users content when you participate in the social platform. You simply sign up for an account and start creating. You can blog, make videos, create memes, write music, or post photographs. Liking, sharing, and commenting will also earn you crypto. You can sign up for a STEEM Connect account here. You will need an email address and a phone to prove you are human for a free account, this will take some time to get approved. You can also choose to pay to bypass the queue and remain anonymous. Once you have an account you will be able to use it on an all sites that run on STEEM.One thing I would like to mention… all of your posts will be on the blockchain forever. This is a great place for original content, not a good place for any type of plagiarism. But if you create original quality content, you will be rewarded.

Blog
Their are multiple social and blogging sites that are running on the STEEM blockchain. These are my current favorites for finding articles to read, like, and comment.
Steemit.com
Busy.org

Video
Watch Video, Live Stream, share, like, and comment on video to earn STEEM. Or create your own channel and get rewarded video blogging or get rewarded for steaming online. Here are a couple of STEEM powered video sites you can get started with.
DLive
DTube

Music and Audio
Find great music and create music you can stream and share with others.
DSound

Memes
Laugh your head off and post your creations, or just appreciate the ones others have made while you earn.
DMania

There is allot more to discover on the STEEM ecosystem, you can find other STEEM projects here at Steem Projects if you would like to dig a little deeper. STEEM can get a little complex, but luckily if you get stuck there is a great community to help, especially new users. Have fun with STEEM!

4. Join the CryptoGig-Economy

Use your skills and get paid in cryptocurrency. There are a couple of job boards that people will pay you in cryptocurrency for completing jobs. You can also find full time work on some of these boards that pay your wages in crypto if you have the skills.

XBTFreelancer
Freelancer site that lets you do jobs for crypto. Complete jobs for Bitcoin.

Blocklancer
Blocklancer pays you do do jobs in Ethereum. Has full-time work.

STEEMgigs
Use your STEEM Connect account to offer your services, and get paid in STEEM after you complete your tasks. Sign up to list your skills.

Coinality
Complete job and get paid in Bitcoin, Litecoin, or Dogecoin.

Most of these job boards above are computer related tasks… the following Pay Walls will let you take surveys, watch videos, install and demo apps and other simple tasks in exchange for cryptocurrency.Currently they have an Offer Wall at MoonBit that works with CoinPot for payment. So if you set up an account for the faucets above, the rewards will be sent directly to your wallet.

5. Sell Your Stuff for Crypto

You can sell your stuff for cryptocurrency. Everyday more sites are popping up that use auction style or a classified style format to sell stuff on the web in exchange for cryptocurrency. If you have a bunch of stuff laying around that you are not using, you should sell it and fill up your wallets with crypto.

Bitifi
Bitify is a Bitcoin Marketplace and Auction site. They offer a platform for users to exchange items for Bitcoin in a P2P marketplace. Like eBay, Bitifi is also a bitcoin escrow service that allows users to transact securely and exchange goods safely.

OpenBazaar
OpenBazaar is a desktop marketplace that is free to download and use. No fees to list items, and no fees when an item is sold. Because the trade is p2p (peer to peer), it’s happening directly between buyers and sellers with no middleman to take a cut from each sale.

Peerhub
Peerhub is buy and sell site that accepts STEEM (see above) for new and used goods. It is sort of like the Etsy of STEEM and has some very creative items for sale.

So what are you waiting for?

We just reviewed multiple ways you can get your hands on cryptocurrency and tokens. Cryptocurrency will not just be given to you, you will have to be creative, have to make lots of clicks, have to complete tasks, have to part with goods, have to donate some computing power …. but one thing you will not have to do to get started…..  open your wallet!

Good Luck and Happy Collecting!
