Wirex have announced that they are very close to launching their crypto-friendly banking platform worldwide. This is very exciting news for any cryptocurrency enthusiasts who need crypto-linked banking services including real debit cards as well as account and sort codes.
The first Wirex bank account available will be based in the UK — available to dozens of countries around the world — with a British account number and sort-code, 100% secure and fully registered with the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
You'll be able to receive deposits via UK local bank transfer (or IBAN for international transfers) at launch, with withdrawal options being added in the next phase of roll-out, along with additional currency accounts and alternative funding options.
Wirex accounts will also come with a free virtual debit card (not prepaid), and hopefully soon, a plastic Contactless card too. These are real debit cards, not prepaid ones, so you'll benefit from lower fees and higher limits. If money is in your bank account, it’s immediately available on your Wirex card too. No more topping-up or loading necessary.
