Hello Steemian community, I am back for another write-up to talk about Achain. More specifically, I will be talking about its one of a kind forking technology.

Firstly, let’s talk about forks. A fork is when two blockchains diverge in separate directions, hence the name fork. There are two types of forks. The first being a hard fork and the second being a soft fork. The hard fork creates a new blockchain that is radically different from the original blockchain with its very own unique set of attributes. Essentially, it is when a blockchain is forked off of an existing blockchain and goes on to be its own independent blockchain. Whereas, a soft fork is more similar to the original blockchain but still has its own unique set of rules. To sum up, a soft fork is a minor divergence from the pre-existing technology whereas, a hard fork is a major divergence from the pre-existing blockchain.
Achain’s goal is to create a boundless blockchain reality by using it’s forking technology. We want others to fork off of us and create their own chains of blockchains within our world. We don’t just offer the ability to fork we offer the ability to fork and then customize your very own blockchain to your liking. That is why the title of this post is mentioning the word franchise. A franchise in business is when you take the underlying business model or in this case technology, and you create your own unique version while keeping the fundamentals the same. For instance, The NFL is its own business but has 32 franchises attached to its name with no team the same. Each team has the underlying model of playing football in this league but each one is unique in its own way. In the case of Achain, Achain is the NFL and the franchises are anyone who wants to build a project off of Achain. We give people the ability to create their own blockchain by using our underlying technology while providing the capability to customize the specs to their satisfaction. Forking off of Achain allows users to keep the base code while obtaining the right of ownership. For example, in the NFL, the “code” is adhering to the rules the NFL created, but they grant each team the right to their own independent ownership.
Which attributes are customizable?
The attributes that can be customized include, number of tokens issued, block time, consensus type (DPOS, RDPOS, and POW) and even the transactions/second speed. For instance, if you desire a higher level of security you would want more transactions/second. This is made possible through Achain’s Virtual Machine where you can “virtually” customize anything. You can even fork off of the fork to create your own chain of blockchain systems. There are no limits to what you can achieve and accomplish with our technology.
How can I fork off of Achain to create my own blockchain?
All you have to do is create a whitepaper and submit it to our team for review. Our team will review your whitepaper and determine if it qualifies. We hold ourselves to a higher standard and will not just fork for the sake of doing so. We will fork only the highest quality projects that are presented to us.
Has Achain forked at all?
We just recently forked with Bitcoin, creating the coin ABitcoin. This was our first fork and it was deemed a successful one. As I mentioned earlier, forked coins have the ability to customize the technology. ABitcoin elected to increase the transactions/second speed to 100000/second and use DPOS as its consensus type. This is a prime example of how the attributes can be altered.
