DonorsChoose.org supports teachers by connecting them with donors who help them fund projects. According to their website, "Our team is dedicated to making sure every classroom has the materials and experiences needed to shine. We've vetted and fulfilled over a million classroom projects, ranging from colored pencils and books, to butterfly cocoons and robotics kits. Many of us are former teachers, creating our startup-meets-schoolhouse culture."
Last night, the cryptocurrency Ripple completely funded all open projects. Thanks to them, over 35,000 projects are funded and tens of thousands boxes with school supplies will go to classrooms in need around the United States. This cost Ripple $29 million.
