Blockstream Inc. has created a new Lightning App (LApp) called Lightning Publisher. It’s a WordPress plugin that lets you accept payment in Bitcoin and some alt coins instantly. Wordpress powers 30% of websites and over 20% of e-commerce stores are done with its plugin Woo-commerce. Having this much more opportunity to accept cryptocurrencies is big news!
According to wordpress.com, "Using our fully automated cryptocurrency processing platform and invoice system, online businesses can accept Bitcoin as well as other digital currencies (Altcoins) hassle-free. Payments received from customers can be instantly converted to Fiat, and you can receive payouts in Euros and U.S. Dollars directly to your bank account or PayPal. Alternatively, store owners can choose to receive payouts in Bitcoin – no verification procedures necessary."
If you are already using WooCommerce, this is how to make it so customers have the option to pay you using Bitcoin:
- Install & activate Bitpay for WooCommerce plugin.
- Go to the Settings page in WooCommerce and click on the Checkout tab.
- Click the BitPay link.
- Click the link below the API field. This will create an API key.
- When this brings you to the Bitpay website, click on Add New Token
- Label it and press Add token.
- Copy & paste your pairing code into your WooCommerce Settings page.
- Click the Find button to continue & make sure to save.
