Why Hackers Are Good For Business

Uncloak is the world's first, blockchain powered, next generation cyber-security platform that incorporates a vital human element into threat detection and prevention. Rather than relying on an outdated signature model, Uncloak utilises ethical hackers, or 'hunters' as Uncloak calls them, to review and test a company's security posture.

Today, penetration testing is becoming an essential part of network and system defence due to the sophistication of modern day cyber attacks. Automated scanning techniques can be flawed, registering a number of false positives, and completely missing some of the more complex, chained attacks in use by today's skilled cybercriminals.

What are bug bounties?

Bug bounties, or what is essentially crowd-sourced penetration testing, has become popular over the last few years, with companies like Amazon, Apple and Google offering rewards for flaws found in their products. However, these bug bounties can be expensive for companies to run, with resources needed to manage the campaign, and a budget to incentivise the participants.

There are also further issues with the people undertaking the testing - how can a company know who they are dealing with, and whether the person testing their product won’t simply sell a discovered vulnerability to the highest bidder?

Luckily, Uncloak solves a number of these problems. To begin with, Uncloak runs a (KYC) Know Your Customer check on any ethical hacker that applies to be a Hunter. Secondly, Uncloak’s Hunter program takes the headache out of running a bug bounty, as the process is already built into the framework, with Uncloak taking care of the management and rewards side of things, and providing companies with the potential vulnerability information they want. The added benefit being that once a vulnerability has been discovered, it can be shared with all users of a particular product, meaning clients are updated in real time, rather than days, or possibly weeks after initial discovery.

The Hunter program doesn’t just benefit companies. Once accepted as a hunter, ethical hackers can earn fantastic rewards in the form of:

  • 10,000 UCC tokens for discovering a new vulnerability, or

  • 1,500 UCC for confirming the validity of a new discovery.

These can be converted in to UNC tokens and traded for Ethereum on the various exchanges, further incentivising the Hunters to work as diligently as possible when helping secure a company’s systems.

With the incorporation of the human element, the Uncloak platform leaves no stone unturned when it comes to securing networks and protecting systems from malicious attacks, with project delivery on track and scheduled as follows:

  • Q4 2016 - Development of CSaaS - “Cyber security as a service” application for customers to perform their own security checks

  • Q1 2017 - Strategic Partnership formed with Adecco™, the world's largest human resources firm to provide cyber security consultancy to public/private sector clients

  • Q4 2017 - CSaaS renamed to Uncloak™

  • Q1 2018 - Strategic alliance formed with world leading artificial intelligence software developers

  • Q1 2018 - Released white paper

  • Q1 2018 - Building community and strategic relationships

  • Q2 2018 - Uncloak™ UNC token crowd sale

With such a unique cyber security solution in development, now is the ideal time to register for the Uncloak token. The Uncloak presale started 25th May 2018 and ends 25th June 2018. Their ICO starts 26th June 2018 and ends 3rd July 2018. You can sign up here: https://uncloak.io/register/
