Will cryptoassets really continue to be extremely risky?

Bitcoin's Halving is approaching and speculations and campaigns against the cryptocurrency market are not long in coming and appear to the order of the day seeking to create an unfavorable scenario, fortunately the market over time has been maturing and has made states and financial institutions begin to see cryptocurrencies in a positive way.

The truth is that in an article I found today in has indicated that in Spain they claim that cryptoassets will continue to be dangerous even if they are regulated, this according to the president of the CNMV who has warned that cryptoassets will continue to be "extremely risky" and "not recommended".

In this sense and in the words of Rodrigo Buenaventura, president of the National Securities Market Commission, has made an intervention in the Economy Commission of the Congress and in the middle of it has warned that cryptoassets will continue to be "extremely risky" and "not advisable" even if they are regulated.

According to Buenaventura, it is a risk that investors "erroneously" conclude that once cryptoasset providers are regulated and supervised as of December, cryptocurrencies will have the same level of regulation, supervision and protection as financial instruments.

In this context, it is worth remembering that the CNMV published a statement at the end of February in which it revealed its business plan for 2024, and one of the main lines of work was the adoption of the new regulatory standards for cryptoassets.

I've been in crypto a very long time and yes it's risky. Cryptocurrency is volatile. That is the nature of something that is going up like Bitcoin is doing. It seems like it is very risky not to hold some but only how much you're not going to use in the next 6 years. Can you hold on to money for 6 years without spending it? I am I'm speaking in general generalizations whereas you may have a person who is disciplined in all of these things but their income just doesn't pass High Enough to have a savings and so they can't really buy into Bitcoin even if they want to. And then you have these things where the surprise expenses come up and you have to sell in the bear Market when you bought at the top. If there's like $100 that you think you won't need to use in the next 6 years and you buy Bitcoin and it actually goes down in 6 years well that will be surprising that I'll be shocking and while you didn't need that for six years and so you're okay you know you're you're fine but if it's only worth 80 you're going to kick yourself but 6 years it's probably going to be a lot more than $100 and 6 years

Hi @leprechaun blessings to you, thanks for visiting me.

I understand what you mean, regarding what you say about investing money that you are not going to use in the next 6 years, it is something that most people and more for those of us who live in South America it is difficult to invest an attractive amount and wait that long. There is little culture of saving, and we are not educated in economic and financial matters.

Best regards, be well.

I think a very small number of people and realize that Bitcoin was going to go from where it was a few years ago I went and had hit 30 dollars and dropped and we all thought okay it's going to hang around 20 and that was going to be its price for a while and maybe stay that way forever. And then oh wait look at that he went to 200 okay oh and sick but it's leveled off it's going to stay like that it's always going down slowly okay maybe I'll go down to 150 but I think it's going to stay there say oops oh look at that oh went up to 600 well am I crazy to think he's going to go out forever yes that's crazy okay but oh look at that it went up again okay so this happens again and again and again and the people who think it won't keep going up like this forever seem like the crazy people well. Well I think it's eventually is going to settle down and I don't think it this is organic growth anymore. This is manipulation Perhaps it is always been manipulation of the price super rich people buying it to disrupt the price and so it never becomes a currency it's always remains a kind of security. Then they can manipulate it to go up and then mail but manipulated to go back down again and it's only really big rich people who can keep buying at these prices so they are the ones accumulating the Bitcoin so they can crash the price and rug pull us all
