Well Vitalik never speaks or thinks of another cryptocurrency apart of Ethereum, although this time it was different when through Twitter the founder of ANON asked him if he sometimes thinks about other currencies.

There is no denying that Zcash has been positively advanced, it is a cryptocurrency of improved provacity that uses cryptography to provide more private transactions, so it is not surprising that Vitalik commented something positive about Zcash.
Among the Zcash developments is Zcon0 its own call conference that is intended for the Zcash community and the Zcash 2.0 which will be the first version compatible with Sapling Zcash.
