Electricity is still the world’s most important source of energy. Unfortunately, growing demand and increased energy production have a negative effect on the stability of electrical networks.
When a large number of customers use their home appliances at the same time, it causes uncontrolled peaks in the grid. Deficits in the network mean distributors have to buy electricity at much higher prices than normal during those peaks. On the other hand, during periods of lower demand, surplus electricity goes to waste if it’s not used immediately. All of these factors affect the price of electricity, as well as the impact of the network on the environment.
By combining multiple technologies, Robotina’s IoT platform reduces electrical energy consumption, lowers electricity costs, and optimizes the functionality of the entire electricity grid. This is possible thanks to real-time monitoring and controlling of electricity production, distribution, and consumption. Therefore, the platform (1) manages platform users’ devices and (2) collects and processes the data from those devices. This data is then offered to network operators and electricity producers so they can rationalize their allocation of energy resources.
Robotina’s IoT platform - developed by our team of experts - helps users optimize their electricity consumption by automatically turning off a device when it’s not needed or switching it on when it’s cheapest to do so. The platform also offers additional savings - and earnings - by bringing flexibility to the power grid and allowing users to collaborate in group buying, power trade, aggregated data sales, and crowd-financing. Users can also benefit from participating in the platform’s marketplace.
