Introduction
As a private pilot and blockchain enthusiast, I am somewhat biased towards Aeron. Nevertheless, I'm doing my homework thoughtfully and this project looks very good to me so far. There are 13 million coins in circulation and it's gaining price and renown. But we'll talk about the team and project's use cases.
The team behind it is very nice and professional, and unlike many other projects, they're really working on their product already. According to their twitter, they will soon release a beta version of their flight logging app.
The world has yet to see a decent international flight logging applications, and I know numerous companies implementing them (for example, CS SOFT and their mobiletracer).
Of course, they're old school companies and they don't use any kind of public blockchains to track flights.
GPS Spoofing
Another thing Aeron can solve is the old GPS Spoofing problem.
Falsification of data would be no longer a concern with the development of
blockchain. Advantages of the blockchain system are that information is
safely stored and completely transparent to all the users. It is secured by
a multi-sig authentication system, preventing any alteration of vital data

With the power of Blockchain this can be easily solved, and Aeron is the only aviation safety project so far, if I'm not mistaken.
There are numerous reports of Boeing company being interested in blockchain applications to set up an "onboard backup and anti-spoofing GPS system".
There are more use cases not only for pilots, but also for companies, and individual passengers.
