The Newton Coin Project : What is it and why does it matter?
You may be wondering what am I doing here, Well today you are about to learn about a amazing cryptocurrency project in its early stage of life. Now you may be thinking yeah, yeah, aren't they all the same? Well now that you ask... NO! There are many different types of cryptocurrency and in this article, we will go over everything that makes Newton coin so unique, So hold on to your seats tight, here we go!
What is Newton Coin?
The Newton Coin Project was created for one simple reason. To fund research that would not get funded otherwise. That’s right. The goal of Newton coin is to donate to different fields of research including the medical and renewable energy areas to help better the quality of life for individuals who may not have luxuries like sustainable power. There are tons of important research projects in the world that are underfunded or completely lack funding all together and the mission of the Newton Project is to change that. They want to help fund research that could potentially find cures for diseases that still have a grasp on humanity.
This is only one area of research that the Newton Coin Project is focusing on. They do have the hopes of funding their own research projects in renewable energy at some point in the future. Now I know a lot of people say, well I can donate to that using fiat, why would I buy the coin? The purpose of buying the coin is to raise money for these projects. By buying Newton coin it helps raise the price. By raising the price, the development team is able to sell less coins and donate more to research projects. Donations for research is always available also. Now you may be asking "How are the devs able to do that?" We will get into that shortly. First lets get into coin specs.
Specifications
As you can see this coin has a lot to offer, It has good specs and is a POW coin. Meaning it can be mined. This is a good thing. Only 1% of the coins were premined for development purposes. A lot of people don’t like the idea of pre-mining a coin which is understandable but in the bigger picture 600 million were sold to get on exchanges and 200 million coins are reserved for bounties. That is right there are bounties. After that is all said and done that leaves 1.04b coins to pay for marketing, pay the team and other things like that. Now I'm sure by now you are wondering about how everything is paid for so let's jump right into that shall we?
Donations and Development
First and foremost, how does newton coin plan on funding projects? Funding will come from a few various sources. For instance participating pools will contribute 1% of their fee to newtons science wallet, while the official pool will contribute 5% of the pool rewards to the Projects wallet. There is also donations that people give that help with this. There are tons of ways that there will be funding for the research in the future. Now before you freak out. Yes, they will have to sell some coins in order to donate to projects. Luckily there are steps that are put in place to make sure that they don’t dump a ton of coins at once creating a panic. As stated in the white paper there will be a limit of 3 million coins per day that can be sold in order to fund projects. This is a very good thing.
Now that you know about the project, coin, and how everything works you may be asking yourself is that it? What else is there? Well another huge feature that newton is working on is a freelance platform.Currently it is in beta testing and should be released at some point in the near future.According to the white paper YOU will be able to to work from home for cryptocurrency as payment. How great is that?! According to Newton Coins whitepaper also within the next 1-3 years they are planning to create their own exchange and for Newton Coin to be the preferred method of payment in the science fields. This is huge! Science is a ever developing concept and research will constantly take place no matter what happens in the world. This is a pretty safe bet.
