What is the fundamental difference between stock market asset and crypto asset?

Stocks give you ownership rights in a company which means you can receive a part of the profits (in the form of dividends) and also have some voting rights to help take important decisions. 

Cryptocurrencies are more like online digital currencies. It's a way to do transactions without having to deal with banks. 

However, security tokens are kind of the same like stocks. The only difference is that the contracts are stored on a blockchain instead with a broker.

Blockchains are decentralized databases to store data on. The possibilities are more than just as currency. Question is, do you need the security benefits? Centralized servers are way more efficiënt.
