It’s already July month and still there is no sign of any big improvement in the price of Bitcoin.
The cryptocurrency marketcap is low and it will take some major steps in order to reach a new high this year.
Right now the situation is improving but still Bitcoin has a long way to go.
In order to reach ATH, I feel there are some aspects which have to be fulfilled and if they are done right, we can very well see a huge pump in the price of Bitcoin.

MASS adoption:

This is the fundamental and basic requirement of Bitcoin in order to grow and get increase in the price.
Mass adoption is the number 1 reason why Bitcoins price has grown so much in the last few years.
The higher the number of new people who buy bitcoin, the higher the price will grow.
In 2017 end the price of one Bitcoin reached to almost $20000 USD, the reason mass adoption and mass buying of Bitcoin.
So in order to surpass that, we would need more people to buy and adopt the technology.
Bitcoin is a network and the strength of any network is in the number of nodes (users) it has.

Bitcoin Futures Contracts:

Every thing was going good in the crypto market. There were pumps and dumps, shilling of the coins, there were bear and bull markets, there were predictions but it all changed with the arrival of Futures contracts by CME and CBOE group.
CME (Chicago Mercantile Group) is the world’s largest futures exchange and trading group which provides futures contracts for Bitcoin and it started in December 2017.
Since then every contract which has expired resulted in winning for the bears or those who shorted Bitcoin.
According to one analysis, whales bought the futures contracts in December, pumped Bitcoin to a new ATH, then sold the Bitcoins at higher price, resulting in reduction of price of Bitcoin and therefore gaining profit for shorting in the contract as well.
So in theory many whale took double profit.
Till now out of all the contracts, bears or shorter have won.
Maybe the trend changes as time goes on and we may see Bitcoin prices to touch new highs this year. Lets hope for the best.

Regulation of Cryptocurrencies rather than banning.

This is the major issue or hurdle which stands in the way of Bitcoin reaching a new ATH.
The governments of all the countries are understanding the hidden potential behind the technology which is blockchain.
Yet some countries including India are very stubborn towards the legalization of crypto and Bitcoin.
India and China both are yet to legalise Bitcoin. India being a democratic country have a slightly higher chance of declaring Bitcoin and crypto legal.
If that happens, new money and investors and new projects can start in the crypto field and thus making Bitcoin reach ATH soon.
For example, if Reliance launches JIO COIN, imagine what will be the number of people entering into crypto market. I will leave it to your imagination of what can happen.

Improved Projects and Currencies.

2017 is called as the year of ICOs and most of those ICOs were outright scams.
There was a time when ICOs gave huge returns but now the certainty of a project to reach the exchange phase is in question.
With new regulations in the US by the SEC, all the US based ICOs will be checked by the Sec to see whether they are proper or just scams.
Coming to the currencies, more than a 1000 coins were valued at zero recently due to many factors such as low price of Bitcoin, market and price manipulation, pumps and dumps, etc.
To bring back the trust of the investors and people back in the ICOs, we should have better and focused ICOs and projects which solves real world problems and offers excellent solutions. This will help in boosting the crypto market back to its ATH.
For example, Ethereum created smart contracts which helped in creating trust less contracts. Electra which is a payment system which is almost instantaneous.

Lightening Network.

Bitcoin is always blamed for high transaction fees and slow transaction speed. But it has 99.7 % up time which is remarkable. All the major software developers are working towards making Bitcoin efficient.
Recently we had a breakthrough by applying Lightening Network.
The speed has improved drastically. And there was a transaction of 48000 bitcoins for just 4 cents! So in theory 289 million US dollars were moved from one account to another for a fee of 4 cents! Who can beat that? So all the major problems of Bitcoin are slowly yet steadily solved and even bettered day by day.

Institutional Investors.

Till now most of the Bitcoin owners are retail investors, that is, a single person is Investing it for themselves.
As more countries are legalising Bitcoin and crypto, institutional Investors, or in short businesses or firms which have huge amount of money will start to invest in Bitcoin and Crypto.
When they start Investing, we will see a surge in the price of Bitcoin and it will shoot to another ATH in 2018.
