Welcome to the first edition of The Peasant Report.

The Peasant Report will be a 5 days a week, Monday through Friday publication. Here I will riff on all things crypto for the day, and occasionally cover some non-crypto shenanigans if I am feeling particularly passionate about it on that day. Current events, past events, current trends, future trends, history, and my opinions on everything in between are fair game here.

Crypto Winter

Traditionally, Crypto Winter lasted from December to March/April. Thanks to the holidays of the season between western countries and Chinese New Year. But this winter is not like the rest. This is one of those winters from Westeros (for you GoT fans). This winter is dragging on while crypto struggles to find its feet after the boom and bust of 2017.

While investors tend to have short memories, the cuts from 2017 were deep and will last much longer. A lot of people entered the market between October and December, and almost all of them lost money. There is a good chance that if they exited, they won't be coming back any time soon. A whole new onboarding process must begin to bring people back to cryptocurrency.

Mainstream Media's Coverage of Crypto

Do you every watch CNBC, MSNBC, Bloomberg, Fox, or any other large news network try to cover cryptocurrency? Oh boy... It is not all bad, but once they get past "here's the price, here's what it did last week..." their grasp on the details and intricacies of crypto tend to be lacking. For those of us fluent in blockchain, living in it most of our waking hours, watching the big news agencies try to cover can be cringeworthy.

At the end of the day, we can be a little hard on them. But we should be celebrating it and advocating for more experienced and more knowledgable individuals being hired and featured on these MSM channels. Mass adoption will only happen through integration with established entities that share information. Sometimes you have to play the game to get ahead.

Things Coming Up From Me

  • Yesterday I published an article about Proof-of-Consumption, a newer approach in cryptocurrency that should advance coin utility.
  • An article about the proposed CryptoFlow platform.
  • Assisting with the swap of Lumen (exit scam) to the new LeisureCoin
  • It is Fantasy Football season. So expect a couple football-centric rants.
  • ...and much, much more... 😏

Thanks for following along!
