Today is the official “cut your energy costs day"! Think green, think purple, think PIVX!

You might know that purple is our color. We love purple. But today we are glad to be green as well. Why? Because today is the official “cut your energy costs” day and we have some pretty sweet green technology in place to help you cut some energy costs!

Did you know that PIVX is very energy efficient in comparison to many other cryptos? Our current entire network (over 10k full nodes) consumes the power of about 1/6th of a 2.5 MW wind turbine or 15 rooftop solar panel installations. To run the entire BTC network... well, numbers get thrown around, but general consensus comes down to BTC consuming A LOT of energy. A Google search will quickly paint the picture for you.

Did you also know that PIVX uses an energy efficient Proof of Stake consensus algorithm? This means that there are no miners wasting huge amounts of energy and it has a lot of other advantages as well.
