This week Monday 13 May 2019 Hedera Hashgraph, a new distributed ledger technology (DLT) platform, opened its 2nd testing phase where you can sign up to and earn 250 HBAR (its crypto currency) for your help in testing the platform.
Having been involved in their first testing phase I experienced the speed and user friendliness of their platform. Obviously it still needs to be tested at scale, the first testing phase had only 5000 user accounts testing it, but still so far it looks like it has good potential. It's certainly a great solution for fast micro payments and can also see the potential for enterprise level smart contract solutions.
People may have different opinions about Hedera Hashgraph and they are entitled to do so. Certainly their approach has been different from other blockchain and DLT projects. Me I like to keep an open mind when it comes to the wide range of blockchain and other DLT out there. I believe it will not be a 1 winner takes all, but rather we will see in future a mix of different DLT solutions being used.
The DailyTimeStamp is one of the test sites that runs on the Hedera platform. Its main aim to testing out the use of micro-payments in content consumption online. It works well together with a chrome extension that syncs to the Hedera wallet.
There will also be an option in the phase II testing to try out a smart contract solutions. Haven't done this yet, but looking forward to giving that a go as well.
