RE: Bitcoin Maximalists are WRONG! - Here's Why

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

Loved the fruit analogy lol!

In fairness to the 'maximalists' they have a good argument for a number of reasons:

  1. It is the original cryptocurrency
  2. It has 10 years of secure and provable history
  3. Every single other project has some form of central entity ultimately behind the project or making decisions

If we point to the second most "successful" project which is ethereum, the DAO incident is something that is very questionable.

I guess the main point is that Bitcoin is seemingly more decentralized and less vulnerable than all other projects. The validity of that could be in question with the dominant miners such as Bitmain but If I was to bet on network safety I would bet on bitcoin.

There will be a ton of other projects that will succeed, but ultimately I don't think they can be considered in the same light as Bitcoin which is the original cryptocurrency.

I think the industry as a whole can succeed together, but to do so it is imperative that Bitcoin remains strong.
