Bitcoin has retained #1 while gaining an enormous amount of market share. We see litecoin dethroned by ripple for second place. Blackcoin, Namecoin, Maidsafecoin, have left the top ten. Maidsafe is still very competitive as its market share is just behind newcomer banxshares. Total market cap is now about 5 billion dollars.

Where we are today:

2017 has been the breakout year for cryptocurrencies and we will continue this growth headed into the future. At this time in 2013, the market cap of all currencies stood at 1 billion dollars compared to the 78 billion currently and this years high of about 115 billion. I hope after taking a look at the top ten coins list from the previous years has shed light on the volatility of this market as well as the strength of several coins that occupy this list now. This space has seen enormous growth and I'm excited for what is to come.

While we have seen a pullback in market evaluation lately, I believe longer term we will continue to see ROI's similar to past years. Bitcoin is hardly a household name and we haven't even seen the mainstream truly embrace the space considering only about 250,000 bitcoin owners are estimated currently meaning if you own bitcoin you are in the .0034th percentile. In my opinion selling right now would be crazy considering we aren't even near 1% adoption. You haven't taken a loss until you have sold and while the cryptocurrency space has taken crazy swings both up and down, if you had invested in any of the top 10 coins each year from today's date all the way back to 2013 you would have made profit on all coins except steam ironically. Some coins have seen gains as much as %4000 and this is just the beginning. I will put out more in depth reviews and analysis in the future but I just wanted to give you something to think about going into August 1st.

While this channel is just getting started I'll donate $2 worth of litecoin to the first person who subscribes, upvotes, and comments with their prediction of the top 5 cryptocurrencies on August 5th.
