If you thought that Bitcoin was the real first virtual currency, you were wrong!!

The cryptographic expert, David Chaum in 1990, founded DigiCash one (perhaps the first) type of electronic money. Created with the sole purpose of carrying out safe and fast economic transactions, to facilitate buying and selling on the Web, unfortunately it was short-lived. DigiCash declared bankruptcy in 1998 and David Chaum sold his project to the digital company eCash Technologies which in turn was acquired by InfoSpace in 2002. There is a premise between E-cash and ECash... A very common mistake that you find on many websites is to confuse the ECash brand with E-cash or believe that they are the same thing. But it really is not like that. E-cash simply means electronic money, or FIAT paper money to make an electronic payment. (Example: the Visa Electron circuit) While ECash represents an anonymous electronic currency type created by the company DigiCash which was used from 1995 to 1998 by an American bank to perform micropayments.

But perhaps the most striking case of digital money is that of the Linden Dollar, created to develop an economy parallel to ours in the MMORPG Second Life game. The intention of this platform is to create a real alternative reality, in which each player can perform similar activities or completely different from those of real life, but in a more anonymous context. To make the experience in the virtual world of Second Life even more real, the platform provided for the retribution of activities in the form of a currency (Linden Dollar), to users who could be of interest to other players. The Linden Dollar had the distinction of not being simply usable inside the game (as it normally happens in role-playing games) but of being able to be converted into real money.

hello,
thanks for the info.
yes, I was the author and I did not know that sharing phrases from other authors was considered spam.

I thought it was enough just to add the sources, now that I know, I will moderate future posts.
No pictures are taken from the web !! I put the sources of the images!

Hi,

Thanks for adding the sources, although your content is still 95% copypasta.

When you are using someone else's writing, you need to use markdown > before the start of the paragraph, so it can be clearly seen that it is quoted text. Then you need to write down the source under this quote (exact link to the page where text was found).

Also, Steemit values original content so it is recommended that the quotes should not cover more than 50% of the whole post and at least 50% of the content should be original.

Thanks,

Thank you so much again, now I understand better..
I find it difficult to translate correctly from ITA / ENG and many things, I do not understand the steemit rules...
Is it possible to delete / edit a post from my steemit account?
I can not do it!!
If it were possible to modify the content of this post.
thank you

You can edit it up to 7 days after posting. Even if you remove it, the initial content can be still seen on the blockchain.

Thanks a lot for the answer
